Today's policy address explained that 'The MTRCL will also submit the South Island Line (West) project proposal to the Government by the end of this year to tie in with the redevelopment of Wah Fu Estate and the Invigorating Island South initiative, after which relevant departments will study the proposal and implement the project in due course.' This line will include stations at Wong Chuk Hang, Aberdeen, Tin Wan, Wah Fu, Cyberport (along Cyberport Road), Queen Mary Hospital (at the top of Sassoon Road) and HKU station. We expect that Government and MTR will heed the call of the residents and ensure the rail runs underground of Cyberport Road to minimize noise and visual intrusion. Detailed plans will be made available later this year.
今日發佈的施政報告亦提到：「為配合重建華富邨和「躍動港島南」發展，港鐵公司將於本年年底向政府提交南港島線（西段）項目的建議書，有關部門會隨即進行研究，適時推展項目」。（連結）
南港島線西段途經港鐵站包括黃竹坑、香港仔、田灣、華富、數碼港（沿數碼港道）、瑪麗醫院（沙宣道頂）及香港大學。我們預計政府及港鐵將回應居民的訴求，薄扶林段會採用地底型式興建，以減少噪音及景觀上的影響。政府會於今年年底公佈詳細資料。

The first step in realising the South Island Line (West) has been taken.
We received confirmation that the Transport and Housing Bureau (THB) has invited the MTR Corporation Limited in June 2019 to submit a proposal for the South Island Line (West) project. This line will include stations at Wong Chuk Hang, Aberdeen, Tin Wan, Wah Fu, Cyberport, Queen Mary Hospital and HKU.
We will clarify with the MTRC what the procedure will be for soliciting community input in determining the preferred alignment. The survey we conducted earlier showed that while 78% of the residents support an MTR station in Pokfulam, 83% prefer the rail to be underground.

運房局確認已於2019年6月邀請香港鐵路有限公司提交南港島線（西段）的建議書，途經港鐵站包括黃竹坑、香港仔、田灣、華富、數碼港、瑪麗醫院及香港大學。
我們已去信港鐵詢問他們就鐵路走線及其他事宜諮詢居民的時間表。據我們早前的意見調查顯示，78％的居民支持於薄扶林區設置港鐵站，而要求鐵路以地下走線形式興建的更高達83％。

Chief Executive Carrie Lam confirmed that planning and implementation has yet to start for the seven new railway projects identified in 2014, including MTR South Island Line (West). Recent MTR troubles were among the reasons given for the lack of progress.
行政長官林鄭月娥指出南港島線西段是2014年7個建議興建的鐵路項目之一，惟至今所有項目均未落實規劃，其中一個原因是政府及港鐵忙於處理現有鐵路問題。

In a 1221 page response to the many questions from Legislators regarding the Budget, we spotted on page 96 that government confirmed its intention to invite the MTR Corporation Limited within this year to submit a proposal for the South Island Line (West) project. Stations are expected to include HKU, Queen Mary Hospital, Cyberport, Wah Fu, Tin Wan, Aberdeen and Wong Chuk Hang. We support the MTR as long as the rail is built underground. See our report in 2014.

每年立法會議員都會就財政預算案提出書面問題，政府昨日發佈了一份1087頁的文件回覆各位議員的質詢。我們發覺當中第82頁政府表示有意在今年內邀請港鐵公司就南港島線(西段)提交建議書。我們預計沿途港鐵站包括香港大學、瑪麗醫院、數碼港、華富、田灣、香港仔及黃竹坑。我們的意見是要求薄扶林段採用地底型式興建，詳情可瀏覽我們於2014年的報導。
