The Antiquities Authority has declared the masonry bridge at Pok Fu Lam Reservoir and the Tung Wah Coffin Home in Sandy Bay monuments under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance. Note that the Tung Wah Coffin Home does not normally allow outside visitors. Click here for a list and background of other declared monuments in Hong Kong Island.
Following the masks donated by residents in February and March, we have now also received masks ordered by the Southern District Council. We will continue to hand out masks directly to elderly and infirm in Pokfulam. If you are aware of people in need, let us know.
Government has announced a compulsory 14 days home quarantine for anyone arriving from overseas, effective 19 Mar 2020 (Thursday), click here for the official announcement. Some people are considering additional measures to protect family and neighbours as the situation is particularly serious in Europe. We understand some are moving out to let the home confinee stay alone. Others home quarantine as an entire household. We understand that some people are willing to volunteer assistance. We offer liaison between families and volunteers in case assistance is required.
* To avoid spreading the virus, we recommend volunteers to wear masks and place the items at the doorstep in a container or on a desk provided by the confinee.

Pok Fu Lam Fire Station will have its open day on Sunday 16 February 2020 between 10:30am to 3:30pm. Our fireman and ambulance officers will demonstrate fire and rescue operations at 12noon. It's hugely popular with the young kids and not to be missed. Admission is free.
Please take public transport or taxis. Illegally parked cars have blocked the junction last year. The police will attend to keep traffic moving.
It is a tradition to clean out before Chinese New Year. We would like to thank Cyberport for their support and the residents for donating truck loads of electrical appliances, clothes, bags, books, toys, CDs, DVDs, buttons and elderly care items. The beneficiaries are The Salvation Army Recycling Programme, Les Beatitudes and Hong Kong Society for Health. Think again. Buy less, reduce waste. It is the easiest way to reduce your footprint.
